I used to live near Punxsutawney while in HS and it was pretty much every teenage boys mission to run over as many groundhogs as possible. ewwww. They are everywhere. Oh, and the town is a bit creepy with EVERYTHING named after Phil.

I have recently had a bad road kill experience myself. When we were in SD last year it was amazing how many pheasants there were…. everywhere. Flying across roads, on the sides of roads. I couldn’t believe it. Some how I made it a whole month there without killing anything. Then, on the drive back to RI I not only whacked a pheasant as it walked across the road (man, the tire FLUNG it to the other side of the road hard!) but I also killed a bird as it flew right in front of my car. On the same drive, 2 incidents. I hated the feeling, but what could I do??
